The boards cut and ready for assembly.
The completed shelf!
The shelf in place (no shoes on it yet, as I am giving it another day to dry).
The funny part about all of this is Stacey saw what I was doing but I never told her what it was. (I wanted it to be a surprise). Last night she started trying to guess what it was, and since I knew she would figure it out sooner or later, I instead told her it was a step for our cat to get onto our bed easier.
Unfortunately she thought that was a good idea and told me it was nice of me to think of the cat. So now it looks like my next project will be building a cat step. :)

What is REALLY funny is that I had to read your blog to learn about the true use for the shelf! I noticed tonight that you had moved it from the garage, but didn't see it in our bedroom next to the bed. So, I thought maybe you took it somewhere else to dry or do something else to it. Never thought to look in the closet! Thanks Cutie- you are wonderful. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I wonder how long it will be before you need to build a second one?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like too nice a piece of furniture to put shoes on top of it. I like the surprise part too.
ReplyDeleteI love that the shoes are all in a jumble under it! ;) I'm sure it will be beautiful with shoes on top too...
